Endless Warning- Editing

                             EDITING

TRANSITIONS

Editing was one of my major struggles since I haven't had that much practice with it in the past. It took me a while to edit but after researching and watching many videos on you tube, I think I nailed it. I haven't fully finished on editing my project since I am having many different thoughts and ideas on what to do but, I will share my progress so far. So, In this blog post I will be talking about how I edited my shots to have transitions in between and my thought progress with it.

TRANSITIONS I INCLUDED-

Some transitions I included in my opening is a flash cut. I added this transition for the clip of when a squirrel comes out of the bush and my face is focused on thinking that its something else. I feel like this transition added a lot to that clip since it gives it more of a frightening effect and feeling. I also included this transition in the part that transitions from the car to the woods since the setting is moved from a calming scene to an unsettling one. The next transition I included is the slow zoom for the part after I hear something in the bushes and my face is focused on with a slow zoom. The last transition I have gotten to so far is a jump scare for the scene where the person comes walking in a fast pace towards her and she looks back quick. I used this transition so its could add a sense of flash to the scene and a cliffhanger which questions who that person is.

TRANSITIONS I WOULD LIKE TO INCLUDE-

So, after the transitions I have so far included into my opening, I will be discussing the transitions I would like to include that will help it come together overall. A transition I would like to include is a cross dissolve for the scene where she keeps on seeing the sign and I would like for it to dissolve to her being in the car again. I would like the cross dissolve to enhance the storytelling and flow of the scene to help it create a sense of time passage. Another transition i would like to include to this film is quick cuts. I would mostly want to include them to the scenes in the forest to enhance the mood and build tension to the scenes. I mostly would like to include this transition since it could really help with the effect of the horror movie genre overall and helps build pace to the opening since its more intense and fast paced.
